The decision followed a high-level consultative meeting involving key government officials, including Ibrahim Gaidam (Minister of Police Affairs) and Tunji Alausa (Minister of Education), who considered student intake capacity, funding realities, academic quality assurance, and the long-term needs of the Nigeria — Nigeria Police Force. Additionally, Bola Tinubu reconstituted the 16-member Governing Council of the Nigeria — Nigeria Police Academy Wudil, appointing Ibrahim Gaidam as its chairman.
