This significant milestone, celebrated by Saad Sherida al-Kaabi, CEO of QatarEnergy, marks an important step towards full commercial operations. The project, which involved an investment of over $10 billion, began sustained liquefaction operations and first LNG production on March 30, 2026. QatarEnergy holds a 70% stake, with ExxonMobil holding 30%. QatarEnergy, a subsidiary of QatarEnergy, will off-take 70% of the project's 18 million tons per annum production capacity, further bolstering its global LNG portfolio.
