The planned extensive drilling program by PPX Mining Corp. at its Igor Project is expected to positively impact its stock price by potentially increasing its Gold, Silver, and Copper resources. Glencore's investment in sulfide exploration further de-risks the project and signals confidence in its potential.
PPX Mining Corp. has announced its most significant exploration plan to date for 2026 at its Igor Project in the La Libertad Region, Peru. The company intends to drill a total of 9,500 meters across its Callanquitas Mine and Portachuelos project. This extensive drilling campaign aims to expand high-grade Gold, Silver, and Copper resources at Callanquitas and establish internal resources at Portachuelos. The sulfide exploration will be financed by an investment from Glencore, while oxide exploration will be funded by ongoing free cash flow from Callanquitas operations. PPX Mining Corp. plans to initiate underground drilling at Callanquitas East in June 2026, targeting both oxide and sulfide zones. Later in the year, drilling will commence on a tension sulfide vein discovered in 2024 and at Callanquitas West. The company also plans to submit a surface exploration permit for Portachuelos in June 2026, targeting the BX2 structure and testing its intersection with the Callanquitas system.
