Arasan Chip Systems has announced the immediate availability of its UFS 5.0 Host Controller IP, a significant development for mobile storage and connectivity interfaces. This new IP supports a maximum throughput of 46.694 Gbps with M-PHY HS-Gear 6 operation, offering high data transfer rates with low power consumption. It is designed for advanced mobile applications, including high-end smartphones and edge AI devices. Arasan Chip Systems has a long history of supporting JEDEC and MIPI Alliance standards, having been the first provider of a Total UFS IP solution in 2011. The UFS 5.0 Host IP is already being used by tester companies for compliance and production testing, and Arasan Chip Systems' CTO, Prakash Kamath, expressed confidence that this will accelerate UFS 5.0 adoption in ASIC's.
