Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz Reappointed TCN MD

Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz has been reappointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria — Transmission Company of Nigeria by Bola Tinubu for a second four-year term. Abdulaziz pledged a results-driven second term focused on significantly improving bulk power delivery and making the transmission network more viable and reliable for all Nigerians. He highlighted the Nigeria — Transmission Company of Nigeria's progress, including an increase in grid wheeling capacity from 5,000 megawatts in 2015 to over 8,700 megawatts today, driven by sustained investments and partnerships with entities like the World Bank Group, African Development Bank, Japan — Japan International Cooperation Agency, and France — French Development Agency. The Nigeria — Transmission Company of Nigeria has also installed over 82 transformers in 23 months, including 15 high-capacity units in the second half of 2025, and improved grid stability through targeted interventions and rehabilitation of aging infrastructure. This reappointment aligns with Bola Tinubu's 'Renewed Hope Agenda' for the power sector in Nigeria.
