A two-year-old boy, Aliyu Muhammad, was kidnapped on April 19 in Gwammaja Quarters, Dala Local Government Area, Nigeria — Kano State. The abductors, identified as Hassan Umar, Suleman Abdullahi, and Hussaini Saminu, demanded a ₦1 million ransom, which the family paid. Despite receiving the payment, the suspects failed to release the child. The Nigeria — Kano State Police Command, under the direction of Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori and with technical support from Olatunji Rilwan Disu's office, launched an intelligence-led operation. This led to the successful rescue of Aliyu Muhammad unhurt from Hussaini Saminu's residence and the arrest of all three suspects. The police also recovered ₦930,000 of the ransom money. The suspects will be charged to court.
