The Police Command in Nigeria — Ondo State, with the assistance of the Nigeria — Nigerian Army, intercepted a suspected child trafficking syndicate on April 23. A 13-year-old girl was rescued from a commercial bus travelling from Lagos to Abuja. The driver, Akomolafe Tope, and the conductor, Sunday Ismaila, were arrested after they could not provide credible information about the minor. The case has been transferred to the Gender-Based Offences Unit for further investigation, and the suspects will be charged in court.
