Boston Scientific Presents Positive Clinical Trial Data

Boston Scientific announced positive clinical trial data for its FARAPULSE Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) Platform and WATCHMAN Left Atrial Appendage Closure (LAAC) technologies at Heart Rhythm 2026, the annual meeting of the Heart Rhythm Society. Key findings include the AVANT GUARD trial demonstrating statistical superiority of FARAPULSE PFA over anti-arrhythmic drugs for persistent atrial fibrillation, with results published in The New England Journal of Medicine. Feasibility studies for the FARAFLEX PFA Catheter showed improved PVI durability. Real-world evidence from ALIGN-AF reinforced the safety of concomitant FARAWAVE PFA Catheter and WATCHMAN FLX Pro LAAC Device procedures. A sub-analysis of the CHAMPION-AF trial highlighted the WATCHMAN FLX implant's protection against non-procedural bleeding. Long-term follow-up from the ASAP-TOO trial indicated a lower rate of stroke or systemic embolism with LAAC devices. Additionally, the PRAETORIAN DFT study of the EMBLEM MRI Subcutaneous Implantable Defibrillator met its primary endpoint. Kenneth W.
