The United States — United States Department of Justice alleges that Xu Zewei was involved in hacking and stealing crucial COVID-19 medical research at the behest of the Chinese government. He is also accused of being part of Hafnium, a cyber-espionage group that infiltrated thousands of computers globally. Xu Zewei was arrested in Milan on July 3 at the request of United States authorities, and his lawyer maintains his client is a victim of mistaken identity.
