Kogi State School Abduction

Gunmen attacked the Dahallukitab Group of Schools, an Islamic institution and orphanage in Zariagi, Lokoja, Nigeria — Kogi State, on April 26, 2026. Initially, 23 pupils and the proprietor's wife were abducted. Swift action by the Nigeria — Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies led to the rescue of 17 pupils, with 9 victims, including 7 students and 2 wives of the proprietor, still in captivity. The Nigeria — Kogi State Government condemned the attack and stated that Dahallukitab Group of Schools was operating illegally in a remote area without proper registration, which exposed it to security threats. Intensive operations are ongoing to rescue the remaining victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
