The declaration of a significant dividend by Transcorp Power Plc, coupled with its strong financial performance and capacity expansion, is likely to boost investor confidence in Transcorp Power Plc and its parent company, Carnival Corporation. This positive development in Nigeria's power sector could also signal improving market stability, potentially attracting further investment in the industry.
Transcorp Power Plc Plc announced a total dividend payout of N41.25 billion to its shareholders for the 2025 fiscal year, following its 13th Annual General Meeting. This includes an interim dividend of N11 billion and a final dividend of N30 billion. The company reported robust financial performance with revenue rising to N398.27 billion in 2025 from N305.94 billion in 2024, and profit after tax growing by 14.25 percent to N91.4 billion. Chairman Emmanuel Nnorom and MD/CEO Peter Ikenga attributed this growth to strategic investments, operational efficiency, and the commissioning of a new GT20 turbine, which added 100MW to its output. Transcorp Power Plc also reduced its loan obligations by approximately N7 billion. Despite challenges with transmission infrastructure and vandalism, the company maintained strong operational performance and is optimistic about future growth, supported by ongoing sector reforms in Nigeria.
