The launch of Nexus Connect by Clarivate is expected to positively impact its stock price by expanding its market share in the academic and government sectors through AI integration. This innovation could also influence other technology companies in the education sector to develop similar AI-driven solutions.
Clarivate announced the launch of Nexus Connect, an AI gateway designed to provide students and researchers with seamless access to scholarly resources and services through AI chat agents like ChatGPT and Claude (AI model). This new product, powered by the Clarivate Academic AI Platform, integrates with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to ensure libraries maintain visibility and control over their licensed content within AI environments. Oren Beit-Arie emphasized the strategic importance of keeping libraries at the center of trusted knowledge in AI. Hong Kong Polytechnic University, along with four other universities in North America and APAC, will be among the first institutions to deploy Nexus Connect, with a broader early access program planned for July 2026. The platform offers features like entitlement-based access, institutional identity, configurable scope, and enterprise-grade security and privacy, with initial use cases focusing on academic discovery and end-user library services.
