National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure Empowers Kano Households

The Nigeria — National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) launched its Sustainable Empowerment Programme in Nigeria — Kano State, Nigeria, on April 28, 2026. This initiative provided over 2,000 households in rural and semi-urban communities with clean energy solutions, including NASENI Clean Cookstoves and Home Solar Systems. The program aims to reduce carbon emissions, protect the environment, and promote cleaner energy, aligning with Nigeria — National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure's Zero Carbon (ZeCo) Project. Jumoke Oduwole, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, flagged off the event, emphasizing its alignment with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes industrialization, job creation, local productivity, and inclusive economic growth. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, Executive Vice Chairman of Nigeria — National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, highlighted that the solutions are Nigerian-made and tailored to local realities. The program also supports the African Continental Free Trade Area by localizing technology deployment and expanding productive assets for households and businesses.
