India plans to boost domestic production capacity for missiles and other advanced weaponry, expanding industrial participation beyond the India — Defence Research and Development Organisation. The country will also accelerate procurement processes, having signed contracts worth Rs 4.5 lakh crores in the last two years. Key priorities include standoff weaponry, strong air defense systems, sufficient ammunition stockpiles, and mobile radar and artillery. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announced Sudarshan Chakra Mission, a multi-layered air defense and offensive system, is also part of these modernization efforts.
