The India — Election Commission of India (ECI) has introduced a QR code-based Photo Identity Card module on its ECINET platform to enhance security and prevent unauthorized entry into vote counting centers. This system will be implemented starting May 4, 2026, for the Legislative Assembly elections in India — Assam, India — Kerala, India — Tamil Nadu, India — West Bengal, and India — Puducherry, as well as bye-elections in seven constituencies.
