The India — Election Commission of India is actively investigating demands for repolling in 77 booths across four Assembly constituencies in India — West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district. These demands arose after the second phase of India — West Bengal elections on April 29, following numerous complaints of irregularities. Allegations include EVM tampering, use of substances on machines, attempts to obstruct surveillance cameras, and the placement of spy cameras in voters' shirt pockets in the Diamond Harbour area. Chief Election Commissioner Bhuvneshwar Kumar has directed Special Observer Subrata Gupta to conduct on-ground inspections and submit a detailed report before a final decision on repolling is made. If required, repolling could be conducted as early as Friday.
