India-US Tech and Nuclear Cooperation

India's Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, announced that quantum technologies, artificial intelligence, and nuclear science, including nuclear fusion and small modular reactors, are the next frontier areas for cooperation between India and the United States. Speaking at the US-India AI and Emerging Technology Forum, Kwatra highlighted India's recent enactment of the SHANTI Act, which opens its civil nuclear power sector to private participation, creating opportunities for American nuclear companies like Westinghouse Electric Company. Both nations are already partners in the ITER (ITER) project in France. Additionally, biopharmaceuticals were identified as a crucial area of partnership, involving collaboration across governments, industries, and academic institutions. This strategic alignment aims to leverage advanced technologies for mutual benefit and global progress.
