The India — Delhi government, led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, is implementing a comprehensive Logistics and Warehousing Policy. This policy aims to enhance freight movement efficiency, reduce congestion and pollution, and establish India — Delhi as a modern, sustainable logistics hub. Key initiatives include developing Urban Consolidation and Logistics Distribution Centres (UCLDCs), modernizing Inland Container Depots (ICDs), promoting electric vehicles and solar-powered warehousing, and integrating an advanced logistics interface platform (ULIP). The policy offers financial incentives like capital subsidies up to 50% (capped at ₹50 crore) and interest subsidies to attract investment, particularly in the e-commerce sector which accounts for 61% of warehousing demand. It is also expected to create large-scale employment and simplify regulatory processes through a single-window system, allowing 24/7 logistics operations.
