Stellantis and Dongfeng Motor Group have signed a strategic agreement to deepen their 34-year partnership, focusing on the joint production of Stellantis — Peugeot and Stellantis — Jeep new energy vehicles in China. The Dongfeng Motor Group — Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën Automobile joint venture will manufacture two new Stellantis — Peugeot-branded NEVs and two Stellantis — Jeep-branded off-road NEVs at its China — Wuhan facility starting in 2027. This project involves a combined investment exceeding 8 billion yuan ($1.17 billion), with Stellantis contributing approximately 130 million euros. The initiative aims to serve both the Chinese domestic market and global export destinations, aligning with Stellantis — Peugeot's international expansion strategy and Stellantis' efforts to reposition itself in the Chinese market. Additionally, a non-binding strategic memorandum of understanding was signed to broaden collaboration in manufacturing, research and development, and industry expertise.
