This initiative follows an earlier proposal to provide Rs 25,000 for a second child. Health Minister Suryakumar Yadav confirmed the expansion of the scheme to include families with a third child and beyond. N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that children are an asset and that declining populations negatively affect economies, citing the need to maintain a replacement-level Total Fertility Rate (TFR) of 2.1. The government plans to launch a 'Children Are Wealth' initiative and strengthen Anganwadi centers to support mothers and children.
