These increases also coincide with recent hikes in petrol and diesel prices by the Central government. The rising fuel costs are expected to significantly impact daily commuters, cab drivers, auto-rickshaw operators, and transport services in India — Delhi, India — Noida, and India — Ghaziabad, leading to higher transportation and household expenses. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju noted that India has managed to keep its fuel price increases relatively lower compared to many other countries.
