Nigerian Navy dismantles illegal refinery

The Nigeria — Nigerian Navy>>> has dismantled a reactivated illegal refining cluster along the Rivers-Bayelsa border in Nigeria>>>, recovering approximately 8,500 litres of suspected petroleum products, including 5,500 litres of Petroleum>>> and 3,000 litres of illegally refined Diesel fuel>>>. The operation, conducted under Operation DELTA SENTINEL by Nigeria — Nigerian Navy Ship SOROH, followed intelligence reports of renewed illegal refining activities around the Egboama/Ogbogolo community in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Nigeria — Rivers State>>>. The operation involved coordinated land and water insertion, supported by aerial surveillance, to locate concealed refining sites. Equipment such as generators and welding machines used to expand the illegal facilities were also recovered. The findings indicated deliberate efforts by criminal networks to rebuild infrastructure previously destroyed by security forces. All identified sites and equipment have been deactivated, and surveillance continues to prevent the re-establishment of these illegal camps and dismantle support structures for Petroleum theft in the Nigeria — Niger Delta>>> region.
