Adamawa, Kaduna Issue Mini-Grid Land Titles

The governments of Nigeria — Adamawa State and Nigeria — Kaduna State have officially issued Certificates of Occupancy (C of Os) for critical mini-grid project sites being developed by the Nigeria — Rural Electrification Agency under its Minimum Subsidy Tender (MST) program. These approvals, granted swiftly after engagements with Abba Aliyu, the Managing Director of the Nigeria — Rural Electrification Agency, demonstrate a strong commitment by both state governments to enabling infrastructure deployment and supporting private sector participation. The projects aim to accelerate energy access and renewable energy deployment, with Nigeria — Adamawa State issuing C of Os for three sites (Kofare, Mbamba, Saminaka) and Nigeria — Kaduna State securing land titles for two sites (Trapco, Makarfi 1). These initiatives are part of the broader Nigeria Electrification Project, which seeks to deploy approximately 213.436 MWp of solar PV capacity across various Nigerian states, improving electricity access and fostering economic development in underserved communities.
