The arrests followed credible intelligence received on May 15, 2026, after a kidnap victim, Ibrahim Jemila, identified one of her abductors at Jattu Market. Ibrahim Jemila had been abducted and later released on May 13, 2026. Preliminary investigations confirmed that Nura Dahiru and Ibrahim Yakubu were positively identified by Ibrahim Jemila and another victim as members of the kidnapping gang. Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, reiterated the command's commitment to combating violent crime in the state.
