Torc Robotics partners Mila AI

Robotics, a self-driving vehicle technology pioneer and subsidiary of Daimler Truck, has announced a strategic partnership with Artificial intelligence, a leading center for machine learning research. This collaboration will see Robotics establish a presence within Artificial intelligence's Montreal ecosystem, becoming the only autonomous trucking company to join the institute. The partnership aims to deepen Robotics' capabilities in physical AI through direct engagement with Artificial intelligence's academic talent, including students, researchers, and faculty. The research will focus on areas such as generative world models, multi-agent behavior modeling, reinforcement learning, and foundation models for physical AI systems in autonomous vehicles. Felix Heide of Robotics and Christopher Pal and Liam Paull of Artificial intelligence highlighted the importance of this collaboration for advancing autonomous trucking at scale and bridging academic excellence with real-world deployment.
