Matternet raises $33M, goes public

Delivery drone, an autonomous aerial logistics technology company and the only United States — Federal Aviation Administration Type-Certified drone delivery platform, announced it raised approximately $33 million through an oversubscribed private placement offering. Concurrently, Delivery drone completed a go-public reverse merger transaction with Los Altos Ventures Corporation, which has been renamed Delivery drone, Inc., making it the first publicly reporting pure-play drone delivery company. The financing was led by new investors including Ed Eisler of Nubank and Mark Tompkins of Montrose Capital Partners, with participation from existing investors. The Benchmark_Company and Seaport Global Securities served as lead placement agents. Delivery drone plans to use the proceeds to launch its next-generation drone delivery platform and expand commercial operations across food, retail, and healthcare sectors. The company has existing partnerships with United Parcel Service for healthcare logistics and Dave s Hot Chicken in the restaurant sector, and recently partnered with SoftBank Group — SoftBank Robotics America and launched operations with the United Kingdom — National Health Service in Central London. Andreas Raptopoulos, Founder and CEO of Delivery drone, highlighted 2026 as an inflection point for drone delivery in the United States due to regulatory advances and growing enterprise adoption.
