UK charges Greek national assisting Iran

A Greek national, Ioannis Aidinidis>>>, residing in Germany>>>, has been charged in the United Kingdom>>> under the National Security Act for assisting a foreign intelligence service, believed to be Iran>>>'s. The allegations relate to the targeting of a journalist working for the London-based television station Iran International, which is critical of the Tehran government. This incident follows an attempted arson attack on Iran International's premises in April, for which three people were charged. British police are also investigating potential Iranian links to that incident and a series of arson attacks on Jewish sites in London, for which a pro-Iranian group, Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiyya>>>, claimed responsibility. Iran International had previously moved its headquarters to Washington DC due to threats before returning to London.
