Global South and East Security Meeting

The 14th International Meeting of High Representatives Responsible for Security Issues, held in the Moscow Region, brought together senior security officials from countries of the Global South and East, including Russia, China, India, South Africa, Brazil, Kazakhstan, and Vietnam. The meeting focused on strengthening international cooperation, increasing representation in global governance, and adopting a collective approach to emerging security challenges. Key themes included the growing role of developing nations in shaping a multipolar world order, the need for equal dialogue among states, and respect for sovereignty. Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu advocated for stronger coordination and supported a greater role for the United Nations. India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval called for UN reforms and cooperation against terrorism. Chinese representative Chen Wenqing reaffirmed commitment to multilateralism and President Xi Jinping's global initiatives. South African Minister Khumbudzo Ntshavheni highlighted opportunities in multipolarity, focusing on technology and African economic integration. Brazilian Presidential Adviser Celso Amorim emphasized diversified partnerships, and Kazakhstan's Security Council Secretary Gizat Nurdauletov proposed mechanisms for water security, digital governance, and AI use. The consensus was that future global stability depends on inclusive institutions, balanced partnerships, and collective responsibility.
