Airoha Technology, a subsidiary of MediaTek, announced its inaugural exhibition at Computex 2026, showcasing its expansion into the 'Short-range Wireless' IC market. The company, leveraging 20 years of expertise in wireless transmission, has developed the world's first 4.2-inch Ripple ESL (Electronic Shelf Label) chip. This innovation, part of Airoha Technology's new AB161x Bluetooth series, supports the Bluetooth SIG 5.4 standard and is designed to mitigate flashing in ePaper displays through a 'Ripple' animation effect. Airoha Technology partnered with E Ink, a leader in ePaper display technology, to jointly debut this solution. The Ripple ESL aims to enhance visual updates for dynamic Retail Media Networks and point-of-purchase advertising, opening new commercial scenarios in retail, logistics, and beyond. J. M. Hung of E Ink and Yuchuan Yang of Airoha Technology highlighted the significance of this collaboration and market expansion.
