The launch of the µPNT GDO-1000 by UL Solutions is expected to positively impact the company's stock price due to its innovative features and broad applicability across defense, aerospace, and communications sectors. This product addresses critical market needs for compact, low-power, and resilient precision timing, potentially increasing UL Solutions' market share and revenue.
UL Solutions Inc. announced the launch of the µPNT GDO-1000, a new GNSS-disciplined oscillator. This ultra-compact device, measuring 22mm x 42mm and weighing less than 4 grams, is designed for platforms requiring accurate timing in size, weight, and power-constrained environments, including defense, airborne platforms, unmanned systems, data centers, and communications equipment. The GDO-1000 features dual-frequency L1/L5 GNSS reception with microsecond-class 24-hour holdover, patented AI and ML algorithms from Jackson Lam, and a MEMS oscillator for enhanced thermal stability. Doug Russell, Senior Vice President at UL Solutions, highlighted that the product offers a superior alternative to expensive and supply-constrained chip-scale atomic clocks and large, power-hungry OCXO-based solutions. The product will be showcased at the 2026 Joint Navigation Conference, where Lisa Perdue and Nino De Falcis of UL Solutions will also present on a new timing solution for critical infrastructure.
