The India — Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) conducted widespread searches at eight locations across six districts in the Kashmir Valley, including Srinagar, Bandipora, Kupwara, Anantnag, Kulgam, and Sopore/Baramulla. These searches are part of an ongoing investigation into a decade-old case (FIR No. 02/2015) related to Pakistan-sponsored terrorist outfits, sleeper cell networks, and radicalization activities. The case is registered under sections of the Foreigners Act, 1946, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, and the Arms Act, 1959. The operation aimed to recover incriminating material, establish terrorist linkages, identify associates and facilitators, and generate actionable intelligence. Suspects are alleged to be in contact with Pakistan-based terrorist handlers through encrypted communication platforms and involved in disseminating extremist propaganda. During the searches, various electronic gadgets, documents, and other materials were seized for further examination. No arrests have been reported so far, but the investigation is continuing.
