The new integrated workflow by Bio-Techne — Bio-Techne Diagnostics and Refeyn is expected to accelerate the development and manufacturing of complex biotherapeutics like bispecific antibodies and biosimilars. This innovation could lead to reduced development risks and costs for biopharmaceutical companies, potentially boosting the stock performance of Bio-Techne — Bio-Techne Diagnostics and increasing the valuation of Refeyn.
Bio-Techne — Bio-Techne Diagnostics Corporation and Refeyn announced a new integrated workflow for the characterization of charge and size variants in bispecific antibodies and biosimilars. This first-of-its-kind workflow combines Bio-Techne — Bio-Techne Diagnostics's R&D Systems MauriceFlex™ icIEF fractionation system with Refeyn's TwoMP mass photometry platform. The collaboration addresses the challenges of characterizing complex biotherapeutics by enabling direct correlation of charge heterogeneity with molecular weight and aggregation at single-molecule resolution within a four-hour workflow. This innovation is crucial for reducing development risk, controlling costs, and accelerating biosimilar manufacturing, as incomplete characterization can lead to costly late-stage failures. The workflow will be presented at the American Society for Mass Spectrometry conference.
