Epiroc, Ericsson expand mining 5G partnership

Epiroc and Ericsson have expanded their global collaboration into a broader go-to-market alliance to accelerate digitalization within the mining sector. Under this agreement, Epiroc will offer Ericsson's LTE and 5G connectivity solutions as part of its digital portfolio for both surface and underground mines. This integrated approach aims to simplify the deployment of secure and high-performing wireless networks for mining customers, enabling scalable automation, remote operations, and predictive maintenance. The partnership leverages Ericsson's technology leadership and Epiroc's deep domain expertise and global footprint to meet the growing demand for connected operational technology ecosystems. Don Bergstrom and Pankaj Malhotra both emphasized the benefits of this collaboration for safer, more efficient, and more productive mining operations. This agreement builds on a previous cooperation established in 2018.
