Manufactured on Wolfspeed's 200 mm platform in Mohawk Valley, New York, the Gen 5 products aim to address challenges in Electric vehicle adoption by enabling more compact traction inverters, improving mileage, and allowing for smaller battery packs. The technology also supports new Silicon carbide opportunities like solid-state circuit breakers and sets new efficiency standards for EV charging infrastructure, with benefits extending to industrial power supplies. Samples are currently available for select customers, with broader product launches expected through 2026 and early 2027.
