Pakistan Crackdown in Azad Kashmir

Protests have erupted across Azad Kashmir (PoJK), also known as Kashmir and India — Jammu and Kashmir, against economic hardship, high electricity tariffs, inflation, and political issues, including the reservation of legislative seats for refugees. These demonstrations, spearheaded by the banned Joint Action Committee, have been met with a violent crackdown by Pakistani security forces, resulting in numerous deaths, injuries, mass arrests, and an internet shutdown. British MP Bob Blackman has condemned the actions as state-sponsored violence, highlighting that British nationals are among the injured and calling for international accountability. India has also criticized Pakistan's brutality and urged the global community to intervene. The India — National Human Rights Commission of India and Amnesty International have expressed serious concerns over the deteriorating human rights situation.
