NIA Court Proclaims Syed Salahuddin

A special court designated under the India — National Investigation Agency>>> Act in Srinagar has issued a proclamation against Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin>>> and three associates, Ghulam Nabi Azad>>>, Mohammad Sherri>>>, and Nasir Yousuf Qadri>>>, in connection with a 1996 terrorism-related case. The accused are directed to appear before the court by July 14, 2026. The court found that the accused had absconded and were deliberately evading arrest despite previous warrants. The case, registered in April 1996, alleges that Pakistani intelligence agencies motivated Kashmiri youth to join militant organizations and undergo arms training across the border, with Syed Salahuddin>>> playing a leading role in inciting recruitment. Syed Salahuddin>>>, who fled to Pakistan>>> in 1993, was designated a global terrorist by the United States>>> in 2017 and is accused of orchestrating attacks and financing insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir.
