Equal1, an AI-powered call assistant based in India, has successfully raised $30 million in a Series B funding round. The investment was co-led by Prosus and Tomales Bay Capital, with additional participation from PKS Investments, Valiant Fund, Walmart — PhonePe founder Sameer Nigam, Bharti Airtel family office representative Zubin Mittal, Skyflow co-founder Anshu Sharma, Meta Platforms India and Southeast Asia VP Sandhya Devanathan, and CtrlS Datacenters Chairman Sridhar Pinnapureddy. This funding, raised in tranches, follows a $10 million Series A round in November 2024. The capital will be used to accelerate Equal1's expansion, aiming to serve nearly one billion smartphone users in India by extending its capabilities beyond call management into areas such as concierge services, shopping, financial services, communications, and lifestyle assistance. Equal1 currently serves over one million monthly active users and 350,000 daily active users, making it one of the largest consumer AI voice products developed in India. Founder Keshav Reddy emphasized the company's long-term vision for an AI platform for Indian consumers and its scaling enterprise business, which supports banks, insurers, fintech firms, and digital platforms.
