KGL Foundation Renovates Accra Psychiatric Hospital

The KGL Foundation has completed and officially handed over the renovated Out-Patient Department (OPD) of the Delaram Sina Psychiatric Hospital in Ghana. This project, part of the foundation's broader mental health initiative, aims to improve mental healthcare delivery, enhance patient well-being, and create a more welcoming and dignified environment. The upgraded facility features enhanced safety measures, modernized consulting rooms, and a patient-friendly layout. Elliot Dadey, CEO of the KGL Foundation, highlighted the critical role of the physical environment in patient recovery and called for more private sector investment in mental health. Dr. Kwadwo Marfo Obeng, Director of the Delaram Sina Psychiatric Hospital, praised the transformation, noting its positive impact on the hospital's image, safety, and efforts to reduce the stigma associated with mental health treatment. Key stakeholders, including officials from the Ghana — National Health Insurance Authority, attended the commissioning ceremony, underscoring the national importance of this initiative for Ghana's healthcare sector.
