TVBS deploys AI translation system

TVBS, a private company, successfully deployed its self-developed real-time AI translation system during Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's keynote at GTC Taipei 2026. The system provided near-simultaneous Chinese subtitles, which viewers initially mistook for official Nvidia translations, highlighting its high quality. Andy Yang, manager of TVBS AI Future Technology Department, explained the challenges of balancing content accuracy and reading fluency under tight constraints, especially with Jensen Huang's improvisational speaking style. The TVBS team conducted extensive testing, introduced a broadcast delay, and built a dedicated knowledge base for Nvidia GTC Taipei to improve translation quality. This achievement positions TVBS as a leader in integrating proprietary AI development with broadcast applications and showcases Taiwan's media industry's adaptation to AI-driven transformation.
