Unified Information Devices acquires AEG ID

Unified Information Devices (UID), a leader in RFID-enabled monitoring for medical research, has completed the acquisition of AEG Identifikationssysteme GmbH (AEG ID). This strategic move expands UID's manufacturing capabilities and creates a unified platform to bring RFID innovations to Europe and North America. AEG ID is known for its expertise in industrial automation, access control, logistics, and animal identification, with manufacturing operations in the Czech Republic capable of producing tens of millions of transponders annually. The acquisition aims to meet the growing demand for automation, traceability, and real-time operational intelligence across various sectors, including manufacturing, healthcare, semiconductor production, and animal health. V. Craig Jordan, CEO of UID, emphasized the opportunity to expand AEG ID's industrial RFID solutions into North America. Matt Ruiter, Chief Science Officer of UID, highlighted the critical role of data quality and integrity in AI-driven decision-making.
