Baidyanath Ghosh Dastidar sues TMC leaders

Baidyanath Ghosh Dastidar, son of rebel India — Trinamool Congress MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, has sent a legal notice to former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and other India — Trinamool Congress leaders, including Mahua Moitra, Kalyan Banerjee, Saugata Roy, and Sonali Guha. The notice denies allegations that Baidyanath Ghosh Dastidar sought a party ticket from the Barasat Assembly Constituency and claims that statements made by these leaders are false and defamatory. He demands a public clarification and apology within 15 days, threatening civil and criminal legal action if not complied with. This development further intensifies the internal crisis within the India — Trinamool Congress, which is already grappling with dissent among its MPs following a significant electoral defeat in the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections.
