Kaduna State N34bn Erosion Project

Nigeria — Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has unveiled a N34 billion intervention project to address severe gully erosion and environmental degradation in Nigeria — Rigasa and neighboring communities within Nigeria — Kaduna South and Nigeria — Igabi Local Government Areas. This project, managed by the International — List of environmental ministries, will cover a 17-kilometer corridor, aiming to reclaim degraded land, control erosion, restore livelihoods, and enhance environmental safety. The initiative, which has secured funding, is expected to begin groundbreaking within two weeks and be completed in 18 months. Over N2 billion has been earmarked for compensation and resettlement for more than 1,200 affected households. The project is anticipated to create employment opportunities, stimulate economic activities, and directly benefit over two million residents and businesses, addressing a problem that has persisted for over 30 years.
