The collaboration between Amundi, Crédit Agricole, and Ant International in launching tokenised investment solutions is expected to positively impact the financial services and fintech industries by advancing blockchain applications in treasury management. This innovation could lead to increased efficiency and accessibility in investment products, potentially driving further adoption of digital assets and influencing market participants to explore similar solutions. The involvement of major players like Amundi and Crédit Agricole lends credibility to the tokenisation trend, which may encourage other financial institutions to invest in blockchain technology.
Amundi, Crédit Agricole, and Ant International have announced significant milestones in their collaboration to advance blockchain-powered treasury and tokenised investment solutions. Amundi successfully launched tokenised share classes for its Amundi Money Market Fund - Short Term, denominated in Europe and US dollars, specifically developed for Ant International. This initiative stems from a Memorandum of Understanding signed last November, aiming to explore blockchain innovations for real-time treasury management and tokenised investment solutions. Ant International, as the pioneering customer, partnered with Amundi to create a real-time investment solution for its intra-group liquidity management, with Crédit Agricole acting as the transfer and tokenisation agent. This tripartite effort enhances Ant International's operational efficiency and on-chain treasury capabilities. The parties are now exploring the launch of the Amundi Money Market Fund - Short Term on Whale, Ant International's internal blockchain-based treasury management platform, and co-developing new money market fund solutions for treasurers worldwide. They are also considering expanding the solution to new markets and currencies, subject to regulatory approvals.
