Joseph Ikpea Advocates Local Security

Senator Joseph Ikpea, representing Edo Central Senatorial District in Nigeria, has called for local government areas to implement tailored security measures to combat banditry, kidnapping, and other crimes. He emphasized that security, like politics, is local and highlighted his past achievements as a local government chairman, including building three security outposts in Esan South-East Local Government Area of Nigeria — Edo State, which are now used by the Nigeria — Nigerian Army. Ikpea also mentioned his efforts to include maintenance of these facilities and other community-focused projects in the 2026 budget. As the Nigeria — All Progressives Congress senatorial candidate for the 2027 National Assembly election, he praised Governor Monday Okpebholo's development initiatives and confirmed the implementation of the governor's budget inputs. Additionally, Ikpea detailed other projects from his time as chairman, such as building a magistrate court, providing boreholes and electricity, and donating hospital equipment. He also noted his role in renovating public primary schools and facilitating the employment of 550 teachers through the State Universal Basic Education Board.
