The completion of the equity offering by JOYY Inc. is expected to have a positive impact on its stock price and investor confidence, as it strengthens the company's financial position and provides capital for strategic growth initiatives in AI and robotics. The reduction of higher-cost short-term loans will also improve the company's balance sheet and reduce recurring financing costs, which is generally viewed favorably by the market.
JOYY Inc. has successfully completed its At-The-Market (ATM) equity offering program, raising US$20 million in gross proceeds and approximately US$19.1 million in net proceeds after deducting commissions and expenses. The program, established with Texas Capital Bancshares — Texas Capital Securities, LLC as lead sales agent and Wilson-Davis & Co., Inc., Inc. as additional sales agent, is now concluded with no further share sales planned under this facility. The company intends to use a portion of the net proceeds to retire outstanding higher-cost short-term business loans, thereby reducing financing costs. The majority of the remaining funds will be invested in its proprietary AI-native workforce management platform, regional integrated facility management (IFM) services, AI software, physical AI training data factories, and robotics initiatives. JOYY Inc. also plans to explore potential high-value acquisitions or strategic investments in complementary technologies, aiming to accelerate its transformation into an autonomous, AI-driven workforce leader.
