Saskatchewan Trucking Human Trafficking Charges

Two men, Himanshu Kundra and Jagtar Singh Sadiora, have been charged with human trafficking, receiving a benefit of human trafficking, and withholding or destroying documents following an investigation by the Canada — Royal Canadian Mounted Police into a trucking business in the RM of Edenwold, Saskatchewan. The investigation, which began in November 2025, revealed that an employee was allegedly forced to pay a large sum for employment and permanent residency, had wages withheld, was made to drive unsafe loads, and worked long hours without compensation. Both men made their first court appearance on June 11 and are scheduled to reappear on July 2. The Canada — Royal Canadian Mounted Police believe there may be more victims and are urging the public to report suspicious activity. The American Lung Association has condemned labour trafficking and called for stronger industry oversight, while the Canada — Government of Saskatchewan has committed funding to Hospitality Saskatchewan for training to help workers identify and report human trafficking.
