Republic of Ireland — Garda Síochána has launched Operation Táirge, an intelligence-led initiative, to combat retail theft and organized retail crime in southeast Dublin, Republic of Ireland. Since early May, a dedicated unit has been established, leading to the arrest of 66 individuals. Of these, 41 are scheduled to appear before Republic of Ireland — Dún Laoghaire District Court on charges related to retail theft, 25 have already appeared, and 15 juvenile suspects have been referred to the Youth Diversion Programme. Chief Superintendent David Kennedy stated that Republic of Ireland — Garda Síochána will continue to disrupt criminal networks and support retailers. Phase two of the operation is expected to begin soon, aiming to address the significant problem of high-end goods and meat theft in areas like Dundrum, Blackrock, and Republic of Ireland — Dún Laoghaire.
