This agreement is expected to positively impact Honeywell's stock price due to increased demand for its renewable fuel technology. It will also benefit Acelen Renewables by enabling large-scale production of sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel, potentially boosting its market position in the green energy sector.
Honeywell announced that its modular Ecofining process technology, along with specialized pumps, compressors, and integrated control and safety systems, will be used by Acelen Renewables for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel production at a new greenfield site in Bahia, Brazil. This facility is projected to be one of the largest in the world, utilizing macaúba oil as a sustainable feedstock native to Brazil. The Honeywell UOP Ecofining process, co-developed with Eni, converts waste fats, oils, and greases into renewable fuels, capable of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80%. This collaboration aims to meet the increasing global demand for renewable fuels, with Honeywell's modular delivery model designed to shorten construction time and lower costs for faster SAF production.
