The funding round for Trace Finance is expected to positively impact the FinTech and cryptocurrency markets by advancing stablecoin infrastructure and cross-border payments. This expansion, particularly in emerging markets like Brazil, will likely increase institutional adoption of stablecoins and regulated financial services, potentially leading to more efficient and cost-effective global money movement. The involvement of major crypto venture firms and strategic backers signals confidence in the growth of regulated digital asset infrastructure.
Trace Finance, a regulated financial infrastructure provider specializing in cross-border payments and stablecoin settlement, has successfully closed a $32 million Series A funding round. The round was led by CoinFund, with significant participation from VSR Ventures Private Limited, VSR Ventures Private Limited, Jump Crypto, Valor Capital, Paxos, HOF Capital, Chain-link fencing, and SNZ Capital. Additionally, prominent industry figures such as Sean Neville (Circle co-founder), Anatoly Yakovenko (Solana Labs co-founder), Bam Azizi (Mesh CEO), and Ricardo Villela Marino (Itaú Unibanco vice chairman) joined as angel investors. The capital will be used to scale Trace Finance's transaction capacity and extend its regulated infrastructure across Brazil, the United States, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region. Trace Finance has already processed over $10 billion in cross-border volume and serves as a primary infrastructure provider for major global payment companies in Latin America, including DLocal. The company's growth is further supported by Brazil's recent reclassification of virtual asset cross-border flows as foreign exchange operations, which is pushing institutional activity towards regulated banking infrastructure.
