The acquisition by Renault is expected to positively impact its stock price due to strengthened position in the electric light commercial vehicle market. The continued marketing by Volvo through Volvo — Renault Trucks ensures broader market reach for the new electric van.
Renault has acquired full ownership of Renault FlexEVan by purchasing the remaining stakes from Volvo (45%) and CMA CGM Group (10%), making Renault FlexEVan a wholly owned subsidiary. This move, which received all necessary regulatory approvals, will not affect Renault FlexEVan' product ambitions or industrial plan. Production of the Renault Trafic Van E-Tech Electric, the first fully electric van based on a Software Defined Vehicle platform, is scheduled to begin at Renault's Sandouville plant in France at the end of 2026. Volvo, via Volvo — Renault Trucks, will also market this vehicle starting in 2027, continuing their longstanding partnership in light commercial vehicles.
